This is a nice, circa 1890 ring, of amethysts and crystals, or so I was told when I bought it years ago. Now that I have more experience and have a digital tester, I'm pretty sure the white stones are not crystal. They test very close to the diamond point, but most of the time stops at sapphire, and one tests higher than the other. The Amethyst always tests as amethyst. This is a relatively inexpensive ring, so diamonds or white sapphire, your choice; the clear stones do not test consistently each time, but they never test below Topaz, and most of the time they test sapphire, and a time or two one of the stones went up to diamond. I like the unusual shape. There are three amethysts and two white stones set in unmarked but tested 18 carat gold It is a lady's size 5 , but it could be sized. The decorated top of the ring measures 5/6 of an inch North to South, and 1/2 inch East to West. This piece is in very good condition. It weighs 1.57 grams.
