These are just so handsome, and so hard to come by. I found this one at auction and snaffled it for my own wear, only to discover the hard way that it was one too many bracelets for my already copiously decorated wrist. (Piled on with my other trademark faves, it pinched and bruised. I was ordered by a concerned household to lose some silver. Sigh.) You know how it works: when I can't or don't want to wear something treasured anymore, it goes to you.
Shaped so it comes to a soft peak at its center outside radius, or "carinated," this very sturdy bangle is hand-stamped with crescents. The crescents significantly have tiny triangular points on their outside edge, indicating sun rays. The tiny vertical lines on the insides of the crescents may signify rainfall. In any case, this bracelet is all about sky.
Much too sturdy to be bent by anything short of a gorilla's fist, the bangle is nicely round and will stay that way.
There are no hallmarks at all, but acid-tested at 925 sterling.
Jewelry forensics: this piece was at some point sized up a little. Close exam shows a weld in the band where about an eighth of an inch of silver was added, briefly interrupting the otherwise continuously end-to-end crescents. (Photos 5 & 6.) That may be bad news for the purist, but it's good news for those of us with wrists of average to medium-large size. The inside diameter of this bangle is 8.5" (21.59cm), so it will slip easily over even an arthritic wrist like mine. (While my wrist at narrowest point measures only 6.5" (16.51cm), the knobby bones of my hand have to be passed over by the rigid bangle to get there.) If you have a small wrist, this bangle will be too large for you, sorry.
Elegant worn solo and also eminently stackable with any style of bracelet or braceletS in combo. (I wear gold and sterling Navajo, Mexican, Victorian, and Moroccan Tuareg together, with a corny American "Love is patient..." eternity bracelet thrown in, and you be the judge but I think it works.)
Weight: a respectable 33.5 grams.

If you don't find what you're looking for, message me; I have more Native American bracelets in unlisted inventory.
