This exceptionally fine watercolor painting copies the famous painting by Italian Renaissance Master Raphael known as the "Madonna Della Seggiola" or "Madonna Della Sedia". This fine miniature portait after the Old master is done in watercolor on paper, there is some flaking to the lacquer on the lower left of the picture. The painting was probably produced as a high quality souvenir for tourists on their Grand Tour of Italy. The painting is partially mounted, and would need some slight conservation work, in the frame under glass. The Florentine carved wood frame has bright gold gilding of the highest quality.
The frame measures 11 3/4 Inches (29.9 cm) tall and the same width.
The small painting measures 5 3/8 Inches (13.7 cm) in diameter.
