This exquisite 21-inch Art Deco barleycorn chain, circa 1920s, is hand crafted from 8-carat rose gold (stamped 333 on the clasp). It bears the FBM stamp, signifying its creation by the renowned German chainmakers, Friedrich Binder, celebrated for their exceptional craftsmanship (their chains are used by the prestigious Pforzheim jewelry industry). We can trace its history to its original owner, a beautiful young lady from Hamburg, who married a British soldier and moved to the UK at the end of WWII. Weighing 3.8 grams, the chain has a graceful, supple feel and is beautifully preserved. It measures 21 inches in length, with an additional 2.5-inch safety chain. Both chains are secured with secure spring ring clasps. A beautiful European Deco chain in wonderful condition.
