This is a large and attractive Dutch Art Nouveau (Jugendstil) silver brooch depicting a windmill and village landscape framed by openwork floral scrolls. The brooch is dated with a sword assay mark used between 1814-1905, which guarantees a fineness of at least .833 (this brooch tests as sterling). The brooch measures a substantial 2.3 x 1.8 inches and weighs 10 grams. The fastening is a Victorian style tubular hinge and C clasp, which work perfectly. In great condition and ready to wear.
