In November 1911, George Brush became the majority stockholder of the J.W. McCoy Pottery Company, and in December of that year, the name of the company was changed to Brush-McCoy Pottery Co.
In 1912, the procedure of marking their wares with a style number was adopted. These solitary numbers were incised into the body of the ware. The style number of this piece is 689. It is marked simply #689 and USA.
Measurements: 9.5" tall and 6.5" wide, it has a white glaze and is in excellent condition. Some fine crazing in the clear gloss, but no chips, cracks or signs of hard use.
