Outstanding English Pitcher with Ship Scenes ~ Royal Vistas Wares ~ Ridgways 1880-1900

This is a beautiful pitcher with a sepia brown background and gold rim. The focal point of this piece is the scenic engraving by J.M.W. Turner (1775-1851) of ships in a sea called “Boats Off Calais”. The other side also has a scene with ships in water. Wonderful artwork and design with fantastic decoration and detail. Beautifully made with rich glaze and gilding. Ridgways depicted famous paintings of ships on the Royal Vistas Ware Series. There are no hairlines or cracks and only very light crazing.
