All original mid-century Willie the Clown character doll.
“Weary Willie ” was a Depression era hobo character created by Emmett Leo Kelly (December 9, 1898 – March 28, 1979), a famous American circus performer and clown.
This very vintage doll has its original Baby Berry tag "Emmett Kelly's Willy the Clown". These dolls came with uniquely and individually different outfits. This fellow has a soft tone green shirt, plaid tie, light brown jacket trimmed in darker black/brown, blue pants with yellow and red patches and large charcoal grey felt shoes. He measures close to 20” in height. Unfortunately like most of these dolls, he no longer has his original black felt hat. He has a cloth body, rubber head and hands. Nice vintage original condition with a small stain as pictured on his pants. All of his stitching is solid and strong. His paint and features vibrant. Very collectible and not easy to find doll.
About 19” tall and not quite 3 lbs.
