These three antique 9 1/4" earthenware plates are beautiful to look at with their multicolor and oriental design. The pattern is called "Genoa". The center has branches with flowers and a bird. The edge rim is a reddish brown color. They were manufactured by Samuel Alcock and Co. ; circa 1828 - 1853! On the backside is a nice antique printed mark with the pattern name "Genoa" inside. There is also an impressed mark if the initials F M. The condition of the plates is very good for their age. Two of the plates have light stable hairline cracks from the rim, but they do not reach the center and are hard to see from the front. There are no chips. There are a few missing paint nicks on the reddish brown rim. There is some light crazing. These would be fabulous antique plates to use for wall decoration.
