This is a pretty 9 1/4" Polychrome Oriental Plate. The plate has a slightly scalloped edge. Multicolored enamels of India Red, cobalt blue, green, and yellow create a nice floral pattern. The center design is an arrangement of over-scaled peonies set in an urn that is placed on a low footed table or stand. There is some gilt overlay on the flowers and around the plate edge. The print mark states the pattern name "Pekin" Rd. No. 538202 ( circa 1908 ), A.E.J . & Co. These initials are for Albert E. Jones and Co. , Staffordshire Potteries. The plate is in very good condition with no chips or cracks. It is crazed.
