This beautiful blue and white staffordshire transferware dish measures 9" x 9". It has a lovely curved rim and a border of flowers. The cartouche is a romantic scene of trees, houses, a church, water, and figures. The cartouche repeats itself four times on the backside making the bowl attractive while sitting on a table. This piece was made by Allerton Ltd. 1929-1942. It is in very good condition . There is some type of paste, less than 1/2", on the left underside rim. I don,t know if someone is covering a small chip or it is just wall paint. I don,t wish to try to remove it for fear of doing more harm since it does not show from the front or side. This dish has no crazing. This bowl makes an outstanding display piece! It is lovely to look at and enjoy!
