Fabulous Kaolin Ware Flow Blue 10" Bowl with deep well and wide border. The outer edge of the bowl is nicely scalloped . The embossed border decoration swirls from a dark cobalt blue band into the white of the bowl. The pattern name is "Indian Plant", an attractive center pattern with an elaborate design of leaves in dark and light blue. A very "flown" look. A nice old mark distinguishes this earthernware bowl "Kaolin Ware" from Staffordshire pottery Thomas Dimmock & Co. Circa 1828-1859. The initial D is found under the pattern name. ( Research from Godden's). I have two of these antique bowls. They do have tiny nicks on the rim edge, not big enough to be called chips! Both have some utensil marks. They are heavy weight and it very good condition for their age. Really lovely to hang on the wall and enjoy the unique pattern. The price is for one bowl. You may buy one or both.
