This is a rather small Butter Crock with Lid measuring 2 1/2" tall ( to top of lid knob). It has a 5" opening and a 4" base. The color is tan. The Crock is highly glazed and very clean. There is no mark on the bottom. These containers were used during the late 1800's to early 1900's to store butter. The Crock is in very good condition. There is one small place on the inner rim where the glaze is missing. No crazing. This nice size container could be used for a number of things. Also a nice display item in a country kitchen.
