This is a cute hand-painted over stencils small Geisha Ware Teapot. It measures 4" tall, 6" wide from handle to end of spout, and has a 2 3/4" diameter base. Three colorful kimono dressed Japanese ladies surrounded by floral, vines, a house, and a stream decorate the teapot. I've seen lots of this ware with burnt orange trim, but this teapot is trimmed in the harder to find green. There is no mark on the bottom. This probably means it is pre 1921. Items after 1921 were to be marked Japan or Made in Japan. The condition is very good. Very clean on the inside. On one side of the lower spout, there is a flaw bump. I believe this was done during manufacturing. The top of the handle has a stable hairline crack. No chips. I wonder could this have been part of a child's tea set at one time?
