For your consideration, six 10" original 1901 Wedgwood Bowls "Eastern Flowers" pattern. The Oriental motif earthenware Bowls have vivid "Japan Colors" of cobalt blue, burnt orange, and green. The decoration looks as fresh today as when it was applied. The pattern is a landscape floral with a fence in the center. There is a winged insect on left center. The border design is burnt-orange with little diamond shapes and a gold rim. All on a white background
The Bowls are mark on the back. Eastern Flowers, Wedgwood, Etruria, England. Also Impressed Wedgwood, impressed P, Impressed letters AFD, Blue Cross Mark, and red ink number A4155. From the Table of Wedgwood Impressed year letters in groups of three letters, the 3rd letter D= 1901. Source ( Encyclopaedia of British Pottery and Porcelain Marks by Geoffrey Godden). These Bowls are in very good condition considering their age. No chips or cracks, or crazing.
