This very small Hand Painted Nippon Dish has an unusual octagon shape. This 3 1/2" dish is probably one of a set. Nippon made nut sets with a large bowl and four to 6 small individual matching bowls. It has a deeply scalloped rim accented in gold trim. The color is mainly green with a medallion center of ivory. Decorated with lots of gold overlay scrolls, flowers, and bead-work. There is a Nippon hallmark with a maple leave in blue dating this dish to the early 1900's. Condition is very good with no chips or cracks. The gold around the rim show some slightly worn areas.
I have a larger matching 6 1/4" Nippon Dish listed. See 1667#7690
