This lovely 9" x 5" Tin Canister was manufactured by CHEIN CO. for Macfarlane, Lang& Co. Cakes and Biscuits. Boston & New York, Established 1817. Even through it depicts a charming Victorian look, it was made in the 1940's-50's. Front, back, and top shows a pretty Victorian lady wearing a long dress and a big hat with feathers. One side show a building which I assume is the Company factory. Marked on the bottom CHEIN & CO., House-ware, Burlington , N.J. Chein and Co. was in business 1903-1980's. Remembered best for making mechanical toys.

The Canister is in very good vintage condition. No holes or dents. The lid opens and closes well. Lots of age scratches and some fading of color. Great item for décor display or use dispenser for storage.
