This is a lovely square 6 3/4" x 2 1/2" x 6 3/4" Victorian Dresser Box from the 1800's. Ladies would use them for grooming items, jewelry, or keepsakes. On the top a panel of white celluloid shows embossed flowers with stems. The flowers look like dogwood blossoms. The celluloid panel is framed by a gorgeous silver embossed boarder consisting of leaves and berries. The outside fabric is gray velvet. The velvet is worn on the top. The interior is pleated purple silk in good condition. The only tear is across the upper bottom back in the fold over the hinges. The original latch and hinges are in good working shape. Really a nice item for its age.
