This 6"x6"x2" tan leather covered top and bottom Handkerchief Box was a souvenir of Buffalo, N. Y. I believe it dates from the 1930's -40's. A hand painted scene of an Indian rowing a canoe on water decorates the top, along with the words Handkerchiefs and Buffalo, N.Y. The box has a working snap closure, The inside is red with a fabric cushion bottom. There are some condition issues. The leather lid top seam at the back has separated. There is leather missing on the top next to the latch and on the left front corner. Some of the paint is missing on the painted scene. The box has wear, some soiling and stains. Yet, it is still usable and makes a neat decorating accent piece.
