Someone thought enough of this 1835 Watercolor to place it in an expensive 20 1/2" x 12 1/2" modern frame. The actual Watercolor measures 12 x 16 mounted on top of a cream mat. It is signed in pencil J-----( too faded to read, looks like Harvey) 1835 on the right hand corner. I truly wish I could decipher the name! This could be a hidden treasure. The scene is a village church surrounded by trees. Monochrome on paper using pencil, watercolor, and gouache ( opaque white pigment). For a painting 176 years old, it is in wonderful condition. There are several small stain dots on the mat and painting, but they do not detract from the artwork of this talented artist.
