This antique Victorian Pitcher/Jug, circa 1800's, is marked very low because the handle on the body is badly repaired. Also, I can find no manufacturer's mark on the piece. The measurements are 6 1/2" tall, 9 1/2" wide, 4 1/2" base. The beauty is still there consisting of a complex mythological molded design. A face forms the spout. The upper rim is a relief of vines and grapes. The rounded body depicts a mythological winged figures and animals with scrolls of flowers. Under the head spout is a very detailed relief urn. A very artistic design lovely to look at and study.
The condition besides the repaired handle is good. Very clean inside and out. A few nicks, but no major chips or cracks.
