This is a large 16" x 12 3/4" earthenware Aesthetic Movement Antique English Staffordshire Platter. Aesthetic movement designs were popular in the late 1800's. On an ivory background, there are long flowing brown branches along the top and bottom. The blooms are rose-pink. There are five landscape circular cartouches. the cartouches show the love of Victorians for the outdoors.
Condition is very good with no chips or cracks. There is on little pop mark on upper rim. May have been made by a plate hanger. There is expected overall crazing and very light staining. The gold rim is worn in places. I find no markings, except gold numbers 237 with 3 gold dots.
