This romantic Staffordshire transfer printed pattern is name Triumphal Car manufactured by J. M. P. Bell & Co. , Glasgow, Scotland circa 1842 - 1870. The print mark is of an eagle holding a banner with the pattern name. The scene is Roman with column buildings and trees. A horse drawn chariot and two figures are in the center. The border includes four scenic cartouches and flowers. The compote dish is 10" diameter. The height is 2 1/2" from the base. There is a stable crack under the left handle. No chips and very mild crazing.
