Catchers in the Rye is a small Treasure Jest box figurine featuring harvest mice in a field of rye. The piece was originally carved by Master Carver Peter Calvesbert in 2002 for Harmony Kingdom of England. The model was reproduced in resin and crushed marble, then hand painted by cottage artists in England. The box figurine was issued for sale to the public on 12/31/2002 in a fixed edition size of 5000 (2500 for Version 1 and 2500 for Version 2).
This particular piece is Version 1 whose interior carving depicts a mouse staring out. The only hallmark on the piece is Pc, for Peter's initials.
Catchers in the Rye box figurine measures 1.9 x 2.4 x 3.2 inches. The model number is TJMI. This box figurine is in excellent condition with the paper label on the bottom. It comes in its original presentation box, along with a Harmony Kingdom pamphlet and place card. It is new old stock with the original plastic bag that was opened in order to photograph the box figurine. There are a few small marks on the bottom of the presentation box from sitting in storage or on a shelf.
