Harmony Kingdom The Last Laugh Treasure Jest Box Figurine with Dodo and Passenger Pigeon - image 1 of 8

The Last Laugh is a Treasure Jest box figurine which depicts a dodo, a bird that became extinct in 1681. A passenger pigeon is carving the dodo's epitaph, not realizing he will be extinct soon also. Peter's little mouse is hiding under the pigeon's wing. This particular piece is the Infinity Version which shows tombstones of other extinct animals in the interior of the box.

The box figurine model was carved by Peter Calvesbert in 1999 for Harmony Kingdom. It was carved in England, then replicated in crushed marble and resin. The coloring was completed by cottage workers in England.

The Last Laugh was issued for sale on 6/1/1999, and retired on 11/1/2003. The model identification is TJBD. It was produced in an edition size of 13705. The figurine measures 2.87 x 2.32 x 3.62 inches. Hallmarks include ©, 99, the HBC logo, and Pc which stands for the artist, Peter Calvesbert. The Last Laugh comes in its original box with a Harmony Kingdom pamphlet and place card. Both the box figurine and the presentation box are in excellent condition.

The Last Laugh can be found in The Harmony Kingdom Reference Guide by Leanna Barron on p. 79.
