This Special Event Treasure Jest box figurine called Octobearfest was issued for Oktobearfest attendees at the "... first annual in-store event and available at select retailers during the autumn months of 1997," according to the Harmony Kingdom web site. It is interesting to note that the web site spells the name of this piece as Oktobearfest with a K, but the labels on the box figurine and presentation box spell it Octobearfest, with a C.
Octobearfest was created by artist Peter Calvesbert for Harmony Kingdom in 1996. The model was then replicated in crushed marble and resin and hand painted by cottage workers in England. It was available for purchase only one month, 10/1/1997 to 11/1/1997, in an edition size of 13500. The model identification was TJEVBE97. The box figurine measures 2.17 x 2.2 x 2.17 inches.
Octobearfest is in excellent condition. It depicts three bears, one inside a hollow tree stump, sitting together. The heart with an arrow through it on the back of the tree stump with the initial JC above it , 1816 inside it, and Mar below it represents Peter's ancestor John Calvesbert. It is rather faint but can be read using a magnifying glass. The interior has a South African 10 cent coin, which represents where Peter and his wife had their honeymoon. Hallmarks include the ©, a diamond, treble clef ( HBC logo), a 1 for the edition #, and Pc for Peter Calvesbert.
Octobearfest comes in its original green presentation box along with a Harmony Kingdom booklet, and a card describing Oktobearfest.
