The UK based Harmony Kingdom began making the Treasure Jest boxes in the early 1990's. They have quickly become highly collectible. The boxes are intricate carvings by master artists made of crushed marble and resin to resemble antique ivory. The Treasure Jests are a humorous line often with secret images or markings that have meaning to artist's life.
This Harmony Kingdom Treasure Jest box of a little toad is called "Princely Thoughts." The box was originally carved by master carver Peter Calvesbert in 1992 and released on 4/1/1992. It was retired on 6/1/1996, with an edition size of 9682. It was one of the earliest box figurines produced and thus has no mouse, hallmarks or inner carving. The paper label has long worn off. The lid (the top half of the toad) sits loosely on the base. The dimensions of the piece are 2.32 x 1.73 x 1.22 inches. The model number is TJFR. No original box or pamphlet with this one.
This Treasure Jest box can be found in The Harmony Kingdom Reference Guide by Leanna Barron on page 71.
