Brean Sands is a small Treasure Jest box figurine featuring a crab sitting on a piece of coral that is a hideaway to some fish he is trying to coax out. The piece was originally carved by Master Carver Peter Calvesbert in 1996 for Harmony Kingdom of England. After the model was reproduced in resin and crushed marble, then hand painted by cottage artists in England, it was issued for sale to the public on 6/1/1996 in an edition size of 25030. It was retired on 3/13/2009.
Brean Sands is the name of a beach in England that the artist had visited 20 years earlier. There is a sign on the back of the crab's shell stating Brean Sands.
Brean Sands includes the hallmarks of a diamond, a clock face with month 2, the HBC logo, and Pc for Peter's initials. The interior carving is of a treasure chest. Peter's mouse can be seen peeking out of the coral on the backside. The box measures 2.6 x 1.97 x 1.89 inches. The model number is TJCB2. This box figurine is in excellent condition with the paper label on the bottom. There is no presentation box.
The box figurine can be found in The Harmony Kingdom Reference Guide by Leanna Barron on p. 45.
