This pretty china mustard pot or condiment jar appears to be from Sheffield, England. The lid is marked with the Walker & Hall flag mark with a W & H inside. It is also marked 2271. George Walker established his silver business in 1845. Henry Hall joined him in 1853 when the name was changed to Walker & Hall. The business continued until merging in 1963 with British Silverware Ltd with Mappin & Webb and Elkington & Co. Walker & Hall specialized in silver, silver plate, and electroplating. I am not sure of the metal content on this piece as It is unmarked, but I suspect it is electroplated chrome. I suspect the pot is from around the 1940s.

The body of the jar has a matte beige colored background with a beautiful pink floral design with gold detailing. There is some light crazing on the bottom and some light brown discoloration around the top rim. The pot comes with an unmarked ladle or spoon with an etched floral pattern. There are two worn areas on the base of the ladle. I don't think it is original to the piece as the floral design is a bit different from the floral design on the pot. The lid has an etched blossom design. The bottom of the jar is marked in red J and 8017. The piece stands 6.5" tall with the handle upright, and is 3.5" in diameter. The ladle measures about 5.5" long. The spoon, lid and metal rim could use some polishing, but I will leave that to the purchaser.
