This interesting little broom may have been produced by an Iroquois tribesman as the Iroquois Indian tribes lived in the 1000 Islands area of New York. It was possibly a souvenir. The case is made of leather attached to some kind of cardboard or composition board, and is adorned with leather ties and beads. There is a cut out photo of an Indian child attached to the front. The back side is tooled with "1000 Islands." The broom has wire wrapped around the handle and string woven among the broom straws. It measures 5.75" long and 3" wide. It appears to have some age to it, but I am not sure when it was produced. A neat little piece for the collector of Indian items.
