In 1986-1988, the Franklin Mint issued a series of cat figurines for the Curio Cabinet Cats Collection. Each cat was produced from a different material, in different countries, and reflected various art forms popular through the ages. This cast iron cat is representative of Shadow the Cat, a popular bootscraper figure during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The cat measures about 4.25" long and about 3" high. It is in excellent condition. The Franklin Mint 1986 paper label is missing. No paperwork.
