The English company, Halcyon Days Enamels, set out to revive the eighteenth century English craft of enameling over copper to produce lovely little boxes which were originally used for beauty patches, snuff, or candies.
This beautiful Christmas enamel box was made by Halcyon Days in 1986, and has the oval Halcyon Days Enamels mark on the underside. Santa Claus driving his sleigh through a snowy night is depicted on the lid. The edges of the box depict the snow covered rooftops of the homes he will visit.
The enamel box is in excellent condition. The hinged lid opens easily and closes securely. The gold tone bezel is still bright and shiny. The interior of the lid has a black and white drawing of a Christmas stocking and wrapped gift. The box measures about 1.75" in diameter and stands about 1" tall. There is no presentation box or pamphlets with this one.
