A beautiful pair of doves holding a blue ribbon with the words "A Token of Love" written on it adorns the lid of this lovely pink enamel box. The box was made by the English company called Halcyon Days in the 1970s when the company first set out to revive the eighteenth century English craft of enameling over copper. These lovely little boxes were originally used for beauty patches, snuff, or candies. This enamel box was one of their early ones when they used the oval Bilston and Battersea Enamels mark . In the 1980s , the mark was changed to Halcyon Days Enamels.
This enamel box is in excellent condition. The hinged lid opens easily and closes securely. The gold tone bezel has aged to a nice patina. The interior of the lid has a black and white drawing of flowers. The box measures about 1.75" in diameter across the lid, and stands about 1" tall. The pink base is a bit more of a mauve pink color than what appears in the photos. No presentation box is available.
