This covered butter dish with a pretty floral band pattern was produced by H & C (Heinrich & Co) in Selb, Bavaria, Germany. The company began using the crown H & C mark shown on the bottom of the plate in 1896. The pattern name is unknown. It consists of a band of yellow and red flowers with blue and green leaves used around the rim of the plate and and the rim of the lid. The edging and handle color appears to be 24K gold. The piece is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, or paint loss. The plate measures about 6.5" in diameter. The lid measures almost 4.75" in diameter.
