I love Laurel Burch's colorful cat art. Here is an egg shaped cat in her Fluttering Feline pattern, hand painted and numbered, produced by Franklin Mint in 1997. It is no. A 6369. This delightful blue colored cat with a purple face and purple tail is covered in colorful birds with gold detailing. The cat stands about 3" tall and is roughly 2" wide at the fullest part of the body. The cat is in excellent condition, except for a slightly duller looking area on the tail. No box or paperwork is available.
A note about the artist: Laurel Burch was a California artist who became producing art work in 1960, including paintings and jewelry. After gaining financial backing and a trip to China where she learned of cloisonne enameling, she expanded her art to enamels, wood, fabric and other mediums. She licensed her designs to several companies in 1990. In 2007, she passed away from complications of osteopetrosis.
