This beautiful tall enamel box was made in the 1970's by the English company called Halcyon Days. The Bilston & Battersea mark was the first mark used by the company and dates the piece between 1970-1979. Halcyon Days set out to replicate the eighteenth century English craft of enameling over copper to produce lovely little boxes which were originally used for beauty patches, snuff, or candies.
This particular enamel box is decorated with a lovely field of flowers around the body and with two beautiful birds on the lid. The interior depicts a bucolic scene in black and white. The box measures just over 1.75" tall. It is in excellent condition. The box comes in its original turquoise presentation box lined with velvet. There is a small area on the side where a sticker was once removed taking with it some of the turquoise covering on the box. The Bilston & Battersea Enamels Certificate of Origin is also included.
