This adorable Treasure Jest box figurine called Algenon depicts a cat who tipped over a flower pot while chasing a bird. The figurine was carved by Peter Calvesbert for Harmony Kingdom of England in 1997, and based on his own cat named Algy. It was issued for sale on 1/1/1998, and retired on 4/26/2002. The edition size was 27,048. The model identification in TJCA8. The piece measures 1.77 x 2.17 x 3.27 inches. It is in excellent condition.
This particular Algenon is Version One which is inscribed on the inside rim of the lid: Zoe Bain (Peter's old girlfriend), July 3 Where RU, then an arrow pointing to his name and email address. The mouse is hiding beneath the cat's bottom. The inner carvings of this version one has Peter and his rubber ducky sitting in a bubble bath. Hallmarks include ©, a heart, HBC logo (treble clef), edition number of 1, and Pc, Peter's initials. This Treasure Jest comes in a presentation box with a Harmony Kingdom pamphlet. The sticker however states it is version 2 thus the box either has an error on the sticker or it was not the original to the piece.
