Mason's of England has always been one of my favorite companies. Here's a large double egg cup they produced in the Friarswood pattern. It is in good vintage condition, with two very tight hairline cracks which I didn't notice until inspecting under very bright light. The transferware floral design is intact and colorful with red, yellow, green and brown colors.
The base or smaller cup is stamped with the Mason's mark which states: Mason's, Patent ironstone, Made in England, "Friarswood", Guaranteed Permanent Acid Resisting Colours. It also has two hand written, penned numbers: 1485V4J and E2615, as best I can decipher. The egg cup stands 4" tall and is 2.75" in diameter across the large cup. The base measures 2.25" across.
A beautiful vintage egg cup to add to your dinnerware pattern or your egg cup collection.
