This beautiful floral enamel box was designed after a 17th century box in the Hull Grundy Collection at the British Museum. It was produced by Halcyon Days of Bilston, England. The box has a rare silver bezel instead of the usual brass one. I was told it is sterling silver but it is not marked so it may just be silver toned or plated. The oval Halcyon Days mark is on the underside along with the copyright symbol and initials BMPL. The enamel box is in excellent condition, and comes with its original velvet-lined presentation box and "The story of Halcyon Days Enamels" booklet. The lid closes securely. The box measures about 2.25" long and 1.75" wide.
