Holding Court, although listed by Harmony Kingdom as a Large Treasure Jest Box figurine, is actually a non-box figurine which was originally a display piece issued to dealers to hold brochures. Interest in the figurine prompted the company to issue it for the public. It was originally carved by artist, Peter Calvesbert, for Harmony Kingdom in 1995. It was issued to the public 4/1/1995 until it was retired on 5/1/2001 with an edition size of 6423. The first 334 had no Harmony Kingdom plaque on the front. This one does.
The piece is model TJLPE. It features 17 penguins and a lot of graffiti on the fence at the back of the piece about various species of penguins. Mad Murphy, making his debut, is seated at the back with his wanted poster nearby hanging on the fence. The piece measures 5.31 x 4.02 x 3.19 inches. Hallmarks include the copyright symbol and the HBC logo. There is no mouse. The underside has green felt. The piece is in excellent condition and comes in its original round green box with a Harmony Kingdom pamphlet.
It can be found referenced in The Harmony Kingdom Reference Guide by Leanna Barron on p.86.
