Antarctic Antics is a large Treasure Jest box figurine made in England for Harmony Kingdom. It was the second box issued in the Hi-Jinx series. The artist of this highly detailed piece of David Attenborough (a famous naturalist), and his camera man and sound man, interviewing 30 penguins, was Peter Calvesbert. He designed this piece in 1994. It is made of crushed marble and resin to resemble ivory, then hand painted. It was issued on 8/1/1994 then retired 10/1/1998 with an edition size of 3291. The model identification is TJXLPE. The piece is 3.82 x 3.86 x 3.94 inches. It comes in its original round box with pamphlet. This piece is old new stock and in excellent condition. It is mentioned on p.383 of the 9th Edition Price Guide to Contemporary Collectibles and Limited Editions by Mary L. Sieber. It features various hallmarks, the little mouse, and has eight eggs inside. The original selling price in the 1990's was $100.
