In 1986-1988, the Franklin Mint issued a series of cat figurines for the Curio Cabinet Cats Collection. Each cat was produced from a different material, in different countries, and reflected various art forms popular through the ages. This beautiful cat is in the style of pink alabaster. Alabaster is a form of gypsum that has been used for centuries for statuary. I am unsure of the composition this piece, although the pamphlet states "this exquisite sculpture is crafted from pink alabaster." This particular piece still has the label TFM which indicates it was produced by the Franklin Mint. The cat measures about 2.5" wide and about 3" high. It is in excellent condition, and comes with the pamphlet.
