1986-1988, the Franklin Mint issued a series of cat figurines for the Curio Cabinet Cats Collection. Each cat was produced from a different material, in different countries, and reflected various art forms popular through the ages.
This beautiful cat from the third series is done in the style of the Chinese Famille Rose, or soft colors. The art form first became popular in the 17th century. This particular piece is stamped with the Franklin Mint logo TFM, and has a paper label indicating it was Crafted in Malaysia. The cat measures about 2.75" long and just over 2" high. It is in excellent condition. The colors are aqua, pink and yellow with red and gold tone accents. I do not have the insert on the history for this one.
