This gorgeous deep red enamel box is hand painted with the picture of a beautiful woman on the lid. It was produced by Toye, Kenning and Spencer, LTD, London, as a limited edition in 1985 for the Schweppes conference in Laguna Niguel (CA). The box is numbered 85 of 400.
Schweppes has been producing tonic water since the late 1700s, and has added ginger ale, bitter lemon and other flavored waters to its line of beverages. It is currently owned by the Dr Pepper Snapple Company.
The box is in beautiful condition as is the presentation box (except for a bit of dust). The brass bezel is shiny and closes securely. The enamel box measures 2.25" diameter at the base and is almost 1.5" high. The backstamp done in gold states "Made Exclusively For Schweppes by Toye, Kenning and Spencer, Founded 1685, Fine Birmingham Enamels, Made in England."
The interior lid of the presentation box states "By appointment to her Majesty the Queen Suppliers of Gold and Silver Laces Insignia and Embroidery Toye, Kenning & Spencer LTD London."
