Georges Briard Porcelain Fancy Free Snack Set with Lady in GreenGeorges Briard Porcelain Fancy Free Snack Set with Lady in GreenGeorges Briard Porcelain Fancy Free Snack Set with Lady in Green

Georges Briard was the name used by Russian born artist, Jascha Brojdo, for his commercial art pieces. His designs were extremely popular in the 1950's and 1960's. This snack set is from the Fancy Free line produced in 1965. The set of porcelain cups and plates each depicted a hot air balloon. The designs varied from plate to plate.

This set has a hot air balloon with a stripe pattern and a lady in a green hat and dress. Both pieces have a facsimile of Georges Briard signature and the copyright symbol on the underside. The set has been used so there are a few light scratches, which can be seen when examined under bright light. There are also 2 teeny errant paint marks on the cup - one on the side and one on the underside. The plate measures 9.25" in diameter, and the cup stands 2.75" tall and is 3.25" wide at the rim.
