Here's a beautiful vintage cheese board with a dragon trivet signed Georges Briard. Briard was the name used by artist, Jascha Brojdo (Russian born, raised in Poland), for his commercial art pieces. His items were produced in the 1950's and 60's and sold in fine department stores. They have enjoyed a renewed popularity with the collectors of vintage or retro kitchen and barware.
The Chinese red wooden board sits unevenly and there is a hairline crack on the top of the board in the section next to the trivet tile. The tile is in excellent condition with a gold, red and black dragon and the Georges Briard signature. The set comes with a white china container with gold trim. It has a made in Japan label on the bottom. A cheese knife with a stainless steel blade and red wooden handle is included. The board is 10" square. The brass corner mounts have a bit of discoloration. Still a very neat piece for the Briard collector.
