In 1986-1988, the Franklin Mint issued a series of cat figurines for the Curio Cabinet Cats Collection. Each cat was produced from a different material, in different countries, and reflected various art forms popular through the ages. This heavy little bronze cat is made in the style of bronze animal figurines first made popular by French sculptor Antoine Louis Barye in 1831. The gold tone bottom is incised 1986 TFM for The Franklin Mint. The original paper label paper label indicating it was crafted in Taiwan is missing. The cat measures about 1.5" wide and about 2.5" high. It is in excellent condition. No paperwork available.
