The UK based Harmony Kingdom began making the Treasure Jest boxes in the early 1990's. They have quickly become highly collectible. The boxes are intricate carvings by master artists made of crushed marble and resin to resemble antique ivory. The Treasure Jests are a humorous line often with secret images or markings that have meaning to artist's life. The Royal Watch, the official club for Harmony Kingdom collectors, began in 1995 also. Each year a special collector's kit is offered to members. This kit issued for 1999 includes the gorgeous "Beneath the Ever Changing Seas" Treasure Jest box by master carver David Lawrence and the Royal Watch "Murphy" lapel pin by master carver Peter Calvesbert. The inside of the seashell box has Lord Byron sunning himself on a beach. Also included are numerous inserts: the Welcome to the Royal Watch card, a pamphlet called Lord Byron's Harmony Garden the Adventure Continues, a pack of Lord Byron's Royal Watch Yarrow Seeds, The Harmony Kingdom's Miniature Index, The Queen's Courier 1999 Calendar The Year of the Garden, an envelope with a special offer (unopened), and an application form. Only 26,109 Murphy pins and Ever Changing Seas boxes were issued, then the pieces were retired on 12/31/1999. The dimensions of the seashell box are 2.91 x 2.05 x 2.8 inches. The model number is RW99SS. The Murphy pin dimensions are 1.5 x 0.35 x 1.89 inches. Both were produced in China. The Royal Watch kit is referenced in the 9th edition Price Guide to Contemporary Collectibles and Limited editions by Mary L. Sieber. All items are in excellent condition, except for fading on the green container box.
