We propose today a beautiful all bisque bent limb KESTNER, Germany, blond and blue-eyed baby boy that we have treasured for decades. He measures approximately 6”. His beautifully sculpted and painted crisp and ‘first out of the mold head’ is fixed to his torso and his perfectly molded chubby and dimpled arms and legs are jointed at the shoulders and hips.
His bisque is pale. His cheeks are rosy and all his features are well defined and artistically painted. His one-stroke eyebrows, well defined eyeliner and eyelids , nostrils and parted lips are just beautiful. Even his ears are beautifully executed as are his perfect fingers and toes. His fine blond sculpted hair mirrors fine baby hair.
We will try to show in our photos several ‘mini pimples’ and pepper spots that are original prior to his being taken from the mold as well as a small flaw to the sole of his right foot. These boo-boos are frequent in the tiny all bisque dolls and babies. When we undressed him for the photos we noticed a tiny flake at the rear edge of his left thigh. We found him that way when we undressed him decades ago and had forgotten and forgiven because of his many other attributes.
Our baby boy is beautifully and originally dressed in a long lace and feather stitch edged bunting that ties at the waist with a flower embroidered cotton ribbon. He has a lace edged full length petticoat with lace straps. His lawn cotton christening gown has a lace insert and is lace edged at the hem and elbow length sleeves. It is also feather stitched under the lace insert and at the waist. The ribbon ties at the neck have been replaced with an appropriate two-toned vintage silk ribbon.
He also wears a lace-edged embroidered boyish bonnet with its original blue silk streamers. To complete his christening costume and to keep him warm he wears a very fine cream woolen fabric cape that has been edged with hand embroidered tan lace. The cape Is embroidered with delicate flowers and the edges are beautifully scalloped. It ties with its, we believe, original cream silk streamers.
This precious baby is over one hundred years old and its outfit too. However everything is still in beautiful condition. Our baby comes without the photo props but the beautiful rocker cradle could be available separately.
Please be aware that the fabrics, laces, ribbons and adornments on our antique outfits have more than a century in age and therefore may have age related issues that are sometimes difficult to describe succinctly - such as small stains, tiny holes and careful repairs. We do our best to describe as fully as possible the condition of our merchandise and encourage our potential buyers to ask questions before they place a purchase order.
Thank you very much for visiting El Molino. We hope you have enjoyed reading about our precious KESTNER baby and that you have perhaps already fallen in love with him!
Please stay safe and be well!
