This Old World European-look necklace and earrings set is very similar to jewelry items imported from Germany in the mid-century that imitated old mosaic jewelry, although these oval cabochons are made of plastic. In fact, the design (though not the color) is identical to a pin using plastic cabochons shown in Fred Rezazadeh's Costume Jewelry book under the Germany/West Germany category. This set, however, is marked LJM© and was manufactured by Laurentian Jewellery Manufacturing, a Montreal company founded in 1955. It is in excellent condition. The earrings are clips and unmarked, but the necklace is marked on the back of the pendant. The pendant measures 4", chain is 24". The earrings measure 1 1/2" long.
